So I have a big possibility of making a purchase of an airsoft pistol from an international dealer, specifically in Hong Kong. Even after the item(s) is(are) shipped and arrive in the States, could they potentially be intercepted by US Customs and denied to be delivered to me? If not, I've heard about import tariffs/taxes, will I likely have to pay import tax and if I do, when will I pay it?

In short, share your experience with international dealers and US Customs, if you have any.

First of all, thanks to Carp at CQB radio for helping me find this great site.

I'm linking to a website that everybody here should take a look at, from novice to veteran:

http://www.airsoftmedicine.com/

H provides information on dental safety, eye protection, and skin and body issues.

Guys, I know two people that have had their teeth shot out and it did nothing but ruin the day of Airsoft and give our "Sport" a bad rep in our community.

Let's keep fighting to better ourselves ...

This is not a thread to argue over ALICE and MOLLE. This is a thread to speak about the advantages of ALICE.

Now, y'all are going to say "Who uses ALICE anymore? It's all about the MOLLE now." No it's not! I use ALICE for three reasons: 1) It's cheap 2) It's maneuverable, and 3) I don't have enough money for a plate carrier yet.

I play CQB, where it's all about speed, tactics, and maneuvers. Many players at my field use plate carriers, which tire them out and slow them down. ...

Here are a few guidelines for you guys, just so you can be more realistic.

How to wear your trousers:

Always blouse your trousers! This gives you a better, cleaner appearance. There are two ways to blouse your trousers: stuffing excess trouser material into your boots and using items called "boot blousers".

The US Marine Corps prefers the use of boot blousers over stuffing the excess material into boots because the material in the boots will make your boots look chunky. ...

Where can I buy these systems?

Will my role and playing style require a different system?

The answer is yes, yes and yes. The MOLLE system is based around adapting to the users needs. You should never have to adapt to your load bearing ...

as we all know silencers for the beginners are usually out of the question until you get a major gun but what if you get a well m4? there are no threads and you can't throw away $50-70 for an adapter. Just as easy as can be

1 take PVC and cut it to a desired length

2 cut Styrofoam to fit it

3 stab the barrel into the Styrofoam

4 shoot

5 enjoy

I have recently discovered the greatness of the Tanio Koba Twist Barrels. They are designed around a helectical design with something that looks like rifling on the inside. The "rifling" isn't used in the way a normal gun would use it (causing the munition to spin) it instead is used to create air channels around the bb to keep it in the middle of the barrel. This works suprisingly well. The one catch about the barrel is that if you are shooting more than one joule (320 fps with .20) ...

Now alot of people ask this question, how do I take care of a A.E.G? Taking care of one is very important, and I will tell you some rules to keep in mind.

Rule 1: If you buy a high grade gun, use high quality bbs. Reason why is because imperfect bbs such as crosmans, usually have seams everywhere, causing the barrel to jam. Replacing the barrel can be expensive. It also voids the warranty if your barrel brakes due to low quality bbs.

Rule 2: UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. DON"T ...

this is primarily for the all metal guns and metal gearboxs

take the gun apart, not completely.. as if you were gonna give it a good cleaning.

take note of all the little screws and pins.. this ...

Befriend someone who works at a storage center or get hired yourself.

it's that simple. My brother who got me into airsofting got a job at a local storage center and whenever someone was a few months overdue with rent they got to clear out the storage and take what they wanted.

i cannot even begin to grasp the amount of stuff we got. most were unused too.

I read a few articles on accuracy and tightbores, this is my Interpretation of what I read. I have always wondered how a super tight bore would increase my accuracy with the shooting system that we use in airsoft(backspin). I guess I wasn't that wrong at all really. Essentially what I read was super tight bores(6.01) can cause too much friction ...

Since our guns are all Air operated the biggest problem is locating and removing Air leaks, some of the improvements are just a simple as replacing the `` O ´´ ring on your piston head with one that is slightly larger, givving you a better seal inside the Cylinder, others are a little more complicated, such as Sealing your Nozzle.

OK, since there are hundreds of posts about which BB weight is the best to use, and how will BB weight affect your range and accuracy, etc, I thought I would put an answer to these in the FAQ section to try and save on people making so many posts about it.

What You Already Know

You will know that more weight = greater accuracy

and that more weight also = lower fps, however

lower fps coupled with heavier ammo does NOT = less range. In fact, up to a certain point it means MORE range, ...

This modification is for stock piston heads without the porting... (eg: TM stock piston with head)

If this is a double post: Please delete...

(thanks to the owner of the pics you know who you are)... pics not mine... borrowed..

NOTE: Once you have done the porting be sure to sand down the surface of the ported piston head. Make sure you use sand paper with grit 900 above (the finer the better).... Not doing so will result in damage to your cylinder head rubber...
